Kepler 70, also known as KIC 5807616 and KOI-55, is around 4,000 light years from Earth! It's found in the Cygnus constellation and has an apparent visual magnitude of 14.87.
Properties
  • Type: Subdwarf B star (sdB).
  • Temperature: 27,730 K (about 6 times hotter than the Sun's surface).
  • Luminosity: 18.9 times that of the Sun.
  • Radius: 0.203 times the Sun's radius.
  • Mass: 0.496 times the Sun's mass.
  • Lifecycle: Passed the red giant stage 18.4 million years ago; currently fusing helium in its core.
  • Future: Will contract into a white dwarf when it runs out of helium.
